Weekday Routine 2016 and 2017
Intro by Greg, and then Trenna
Among the documents on Trenna’s iPad there are two called “Weekly Routine”. One is labelled “2016” and the other “2017”.
In this post I will reproduce both of them. In them Trenna goes into immense detail abut times she intends doing things and what looks like a very strict routine.
It is actually not quite as pernickety as it seems.
Firstly, Trenna was fully aware that from day to day she never knew what life, or her body would throw at her. Yes, she had a routine, but she knew that if her body let her down, or circumstances changed she would have to, and did, adapt.
Secondly, I believe the detail is there to ensure that Trenna could maximise her potential and maximise her contribution to the household and our relationship.
And, I also think that she listed all the things she could do in a week to confirm to herself that despite her trials and tribulations, and her disabilities she actually could achieve quite a lot.
I think documents like this, which of course were only meant for her private use, just provided a small degree of control into her life. As she says at the start of the first document “I have about 6 hours to do what I have to do, to feel ABLE.”
I hope you will find reading them as fascinating as I do.

I found this article amazing. with everything Tren was suffering, the ongoing pain and frustration with her body slowing down and yet she was able to have such a productive day, week and year. Tren was very organised and certainly not lazy. An inspiration to us all!
I love the pic of Tren at the card table in the lounge room waiting to eat her deluxe burger for her 60th birthday and the line up of cutlery ready for a fine dining experience.
We did manage to enjoy our joint 60th birthday lunch with husbands Greg and Reuven some time later at Coco’s in South Perth.
Absolutely fascinating reading. How she would structure her day to such detail as a means of survival .
