April 1992

Saturday 4 April. “Ragaletto”! A pasta sauce from a jar!? Could this be right? Then I remembered that when we were first together and both working it wasn’t uncommon for us to have Dolmio brand pasta sauces from a jar. On this occasion I suspect we had it because it was Saturday and we had probably been busy all day – most likely in the garden.
Tuesday 7 April. Basil and Parmesan Rissoles obviously weren’t as good as the Oriental Spice ones of the previous month. They came from the same recipe card.
Sunday 12 April. Another Sunday another Session. This time at Debbie and Dave’s place, or if I had written it Dave and Debbie’s place. (Canned Heinz) Spaghetti on toast for dinner afterwards.
Saturday 18 April. Looks like I cooked a delicious chicken roast for dinner.
Friday 24 April. Red Rooster take away for dinner, and I know why. I would have taken the day off from work and Trenna and I would have been flat out all day preparing for our annual ANZAC Day barbecue the following day. (ANZAC Day barbies will get their own post in the future).
Saturday 25 April. Our Session was the annual ANZAC BBQ. We would have had nothing for dinner because we would have eaten and drunk plenty at lunch time, and we were also both buggered.
Sunday 26 April. Still eating leftovers.
Monday 27 April. Hungry Jacks. That would have been a public holiday so Trenna hadn’t prepared anything during the day. We were probably also still recovering and cleaning up from Saturday, so we probably thought we could slack off and have Hungry Jack’s burgers for dinner. They would have been eaten at home.
Tuesday 28 April. “Beef kebab pitta bread roll-ups, with potato salad, salad, and sour cream”. I probably cut up the steak the night before and Trenna would have marinated it for hours on the Tuesday. Also soaked the wooden skewers. She would have made the potato salad, including the dressing. I probably did the salad when I got home from work, threaded and cooked the kebabs, warmed the pitta bread and assembled the meals.
Wednesday 29 April. It looks like we had leftovers from the kebabs and pitta and made pizza from them. Sorry, I don’t remember that!
Next, let’s see what we ate in May 1992.
