by Trenna and Greg
To fully understand this post you are going to need to access the iPad document I have embedded above.
You won’t need to know much about crocheting, and you don’t need to read the whole document, provided you scan through the lot.
So what am I talking about?
Well. Some time, probably in September 2014 Trenna and I received the wonderful news that one of our 9 nieces was pregnant – congratulations again Jade.
Trenna decided she would crochet a rug as an act of love, and as a gift to Jade and the new bub.
So she started it, and in true meticulous Trenna style she recorded how long it took, and the trials and tribulations along the way.
By looking through the iPad document you can see it wasn’t a quick process, and because of her arthritic hands and appalling eyesight it was no easy feat to get it done in time.
But the tenacity of Trenna, the sheer will to get it done, and the love she was putting into it ensured it was ready when we first met Jack.
Trenna never complained during this process. She knew she could stop at any time and she and I would be the only ones to know.
But that isn’t how she operated. That wouldn’t have been Trenna.
When you get to the end of Trenna’s document you will find it took her 2,118 minutes to complete the rug, and then some!
And of course, she never let on to Jade, or anyone else what she had been through to get it done.
The rug was great and Jade was absolutely delighted with it and told Trenna so in no uncertain terms.
It was a Trenna triumph!
The thing that amazes me, or it would if I didn’t know her, was that she had crocheted rugs for babies before this, and she did others after!
I am CERTAIN she felt it was all worth it.

What incredible resilience my little sister had even at the age of 57 (2014) has never ceased to amaze me.
One of Tren’s many talents crocheting.
I have a scarf and baby’s rug thanks to Tren’s crocheting. Perfect workmanship!
We all loved the rug, done with such precision. It is a much treasured gift that Jack will pass on to his kids.
That’s nice Lorraine (who is Jack’s grandmother). Thanks. X
Oh my gosh! So much work! We absolutely treasure this rug made by Jack’s Great Aunty Tren – to be passed down the family for sure xo
She loved doing it for the two of you Jade, and she loved the response she got when she gave it to you. XO
