Poems by a Teenage Trenna
This series starts HERE.
He Loved Her to Death (17 November 1972)
He held her hand, Oh so tight He came to visit her every night Alone they were, in a world of machines She was really ill, had something wrong with her genes When he kissed her, his tears wet her cheek She was dying, she was terribly weak As near he could, he lay close to her But each movement she made, it would really hurt Then silence was broken with a piercing cry He cried, “Oh God”, don't let her die The doctor came in and rushed to her bed He felt her heart, no pulse, she was dead The doctor moved away to let the boy pass He held her so close and the tears fell fast Then he ran outside and onto the street Blindly he stumbled over his feet Screeching of brakes, a shout and a cry The accident was fatal, the victim did die The funeral was short, they were buried together Where they could love each other for now and forever
Never No More (20 November 1972)
For five long years she had worked in the town But now the crowds and noise were getting her down The rest of her kin had travelled away Now she was off to the country, leaving today Outwardly she looks strong but on the inside she's not She had a fatal disease and suffered a lot Behind her, she was leaving a fabulous guy And today forever, it would be goodbye As she walked along the platform, she felt her eyes swell She decided that she would be catching a train to Hell Then running footsteps came to her ears She turned, he was there and so were his tears He held her tight and begged her to stay But she jumped onto the carriage and it took her away He ran after the train and onto the line He didn't see the train coming behind The train could not stop, it was too late Today this boy, had met his fate When back on the train with a tear in her eye She could only think of her love for one guy She cried, “Stop the train”, and opened the door Poor love sick girl, she lives no more
The King Most Free of All (11 December 1973 – Dedicated to All Mankind)
With wings outstretched he soars the sky And conquers the world in all but a few moments He, that is king of the sky Is the most free on the earth One moment he flies with nature Surrounded by forests, meadows and blue skies Then in an instant he flies with destruction The ugliness of grey cement and steel The sky is no longer blue It is the same ugly grey as the cement With dismay and pity, he passes by Humans, so it is said, only by other humans Are gifted with power of the world, freedom and intelligence I believe the bird, the most beautiful of all creatures Is the most free of all creatures Humans, with all their imaginary power Will never be able to combat the birds’ intelligence The who indeed, defeats freedom and wisdom! ONLY A HUMAN FOOL
He Came One Night, He Left One Night (1 November 1972)
He came to me like words do for a poem Why he did so, I never have known But he came to me one cold winter's night And we sat and talked by the fire light Each day he came and we loved each other He kissed and lay with me until I became a mother We lived in a beach house, with the surf at our feet We swam in the summer and baked in the heat We had left the pollution and noise behind We didn't use machinery of any kind We grew fruit on our land, caught fish from the sea Together we did this, just us three But soon my child grew to a man And decided he’d travel to another land So we were alone again just him and I But alas, sometime, one has to die We had no medicine, but for what nature provided Then like a knife through an apple our life was divided Instead of his warm touch when we lay in bed I rolled over to kiss him and found he was dead
You Gotta Try (16 June 1975 – Dedicated to Myself)
Let the world go by Let it just pass on by Why, you don't even know what you've been saying Go on let it just fly on by Shit you don't even try What kind of fools game do you think you're playing You just wanna lay back and eye life going by While your mind and body are rapidly decaying Your eyes see faces that come and then go They’re doing and seeing things that you’ll never know Go on, be the fool that you are, let it all go by And see if you'll regret it when it's your time to die So you just think real hard and decide if it's true That you're allowing life to slip past you Then, do your best, but, be yourself Don't dream or strive to be anyone else Just don't allow life to slip on by If even, just for yourself, you've gotta try For you see, it's your happiness alone that you're delaying You gotta try You gotta try
Mick Jagger (16 June 1975)
In miles only, he is so far away from me Oh Wow, and so far far beyond me He's practically everything that I'm not But would like to be It is said, that he is only human Although I would tend to phrase that quite differently When he sings, the entire world kind of vibrates He sings, that he can't get it But he gives us Satisfaction Everything about him, stimulates one's mind He’s cool, he has his own kind of sophistication It's really hard to put down his way His songs, Sweet Virginia, Star Star, You Can't Always Get What You Want Are his as well as everybody else’s Yet they remain so undoubtedly individual As does he Mick With all his fame, he ain't even a bragger He just remains, the incredibly sexy Mick Jagger
Unfortunately, that concludes The Angsty Teenage Poetry series, but Trenna will return is a series based on her song lyrics (and in lots of other stuff too) …

Amazing 👏
A couple of times after reading Tren’s poems, I just spontaneously went “Wow!”
